Carnivorous Plants
Carnivorous plants are specialized plants that obtain some or most of their nutrients by trapping and digesting insects and small animals. This adaptation allows them to thrive in nutrient-poor environments, such as bogs and wetlands. They use unique methods like sticky leaves, snap traps, or pit traps to capture prey. Once trapped, enzymes break down the prey, enabling the plant to absorb essential nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus. Despite their carnivorous nature, they still perform photosynthesis and produce energy from sunlight, blending plant and animal-like feeding strategies to survive challenging conditions.
