Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ)

The Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) is a regional court established in 2001, serving as the highest legal authority for Caribbean countries that choose to recognize it. Located in Trinidad and Tobago, it handles two main functions: it resolves disputes between member states and hears appeals on important legal cases from national courts. The CCJ aims to enhance the rule of law and provide a final avenue for justice in the Caribbean, promoting regional integration and cooperation among member countries. Notably, it also works on interpreting Caribbean Community (CARICOM) treaties.
