Cape Disappointment is a headland located at the mouth of the Columbia River in Washington State, USA. It was named by Captain John Meares in 1788, who was frustrated when he could not find the entrance to the river despite its proximity. Today, it is known for its stunning coastal scenery, rugged cliffs, and historical significance, including the nearby Cape Disappointment Lighthouse.
