Cane Toad

The cane toad (Rhinella marina) is a large, aggressive amphibian native to Central and South America that was introduced to places like Australia to control pests like sugarcane pests. It has a rough, warty skin and can grow up to 20 centimeters (8 inches). Cane toads are known for their potent toxins, which they secrete from their skin as a defense mechanism. They are highly adaptable and reproduce rapidly, often outcompeting native species. Their presence can disrupt local ecosystems, harm wildlife, and pose a threat to pets and humans due to their toxic secretions.
