Cambridge Platonism
Cambridge Platonism is a philosophical movement from the 17th century, primarily associated with thinkers like Henry More and Ralph Cudworth, who taught at Cambridge University. It blends Platonic ideas with Christian theology, emphasizing the existence of a higher, spiritual reality beyond the material world. Cambridge Platonists believed in innate ideas and the importance of reason and moral intuition in understanding truth and ethics. They sought to reconcile faith and reason, arguing that human beings possess an innate capacity to grasp eternal truths, which guide moral behavior and understanding of the divine.
