Cambodian National Rescue Party

The Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) is an opposition political party in Cambodia, founded in 2012 through a merger of two other parties. It aims to promote democratic governance, human rights, and anti-corruption measures. The CNRP gained significant support in the 2013 and 2017 elections, challenging the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP). However, in 2017, the CNRP was dissolved by the government, leading to controversy and international criticism regarding political repression. Despite this, the party's legacy continues to influence Cambodian politics and calls for reform.
