Caller ID

Caller ID is a telephone service that displays the incoming caller's phone number and, often, their name on your phone’s screen before you answer the call. This feature helps you identify who is calling, allowing you to decide whether to answer, ignore, or block the call. Caller ID works by sending the caller's information over the phone network when a call is made. While it is useful for avoiding unwanted calls, there are some techniques that can disguise or block this information, meaning sometimes, the caller ID may not show up or may display "unknown."
