California higher education system

California's higher education system is diverse and includes three main segments: the University of California (UC) system, which has 10 research universities; the California State University (CSU) system, with 23 campuses focused on undergraduate and professional education; and the California Community Colleges, the largest system of higher education in the U.S., offering two-year degrees and vocational training. Together, these institutions provide a wide range of academic and career opportunities, serving millions of students and playing a key role in the state’s economy and workforce development.
