Cairo Manuscripts
The Cairo Manuscripts refer to a collection of ancient texts discovered in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the Ben Ezra Synagogue in Cairo, Egypt. These manuscripts contain a wealth of historical, religious, and literary works, including texts from Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions. They provide valuable insights into the cultural and social life of the communities in the region, especially during the medieval period. The most famous among them is the medieval Jewish texts known as the Geniza, which reveal the everyday experiences and thoughts of people from that time.
