CAD (Coronary Artery Disease)

Coronary artery disease (CAD) occurs when the arteries supplying blood to the heart become narrowed or blocked due to the buildup of fatty deposits, called plaque. This reduces blood flow to the heart muscle, potentially causing chest pain (angina), shortness of breath, or heart attacks. Factors like high cholesterol, smoking, high blood pressure, and poor diet increase risk. CAD can develop gradually over time and may be managed through lifestyle changes, medications, or procedures like angioplasty or bypass surgery to restore blood flow and prevent serious complications.
