CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure to improve blood flow to the heart. When arteries supplying the heart become narrowed or blocked by plaque, the heart receives less oxygen, which can cause chest pain or a heart attack. During CABG, a surgeon creates a new pathway around the blocked arteries using healthy blood vessels taken from another part of your body, such as the leg or chest. This bypass restores normal blood flow to the heart muscle, helping to reduce symptoms and lower the risk of future heart problems.
