Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs
The Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD) was a U.S. government agency formed in the 1960s to combat drug abuse and manage the regulation of narcotics and controlled substances. It focused on enforcing drug laws, preventing drug trafficking, and addressing addiction issues. The BNDD helped establish policies and coordinated efforts to tackle drug-related problems in society. In 1973, the BNDD was absorbed into the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), which continues to combat drug crime and enforce drug laws in the United States today.
