Bulgarian Empire

The Bulgarian Empire was a powerful medieval state in Southeast Europe, lasting from the 7th to the 14th centuries. It was founded by Bulgar tribes and became a major cultural and military force, especially during the First and Second Bulgarian Empires. The empire was known for its strong armies, rich art, and the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet, which is still used today. It played a key role in shaping Eastern European history, fostering Christian Orthodoxy, and influencing neighboring regions before gradually declining under foreign invasions, notably by the Ottomans in the late 14th century.
