British Indian Government

The British Indian Government was the administrative authority established by Britain to govern India from 1858 to 1947. After the British Crown took control from the British East India Company, a centralized bureaucracy was set up, led by a Viceroy, to manage laws, economy, and policy across the diverse regions and peoples of India. The government combined British colonial policies with local administrative systems, often prioritizing British interests while attempting to oversee everyday governance.
