British Caribbean

The British Caribbean refers to a group of Caribbean islands that were once colonies of the United Kingdom. These territories share historical ties to Britain, evident in legal systems, language (English), and cultural influences. They collectively comprise Caribbean nations like Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and others, often forming political associations such as the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The British Caribbean's history includes colonialism, the transatlantic slave trade, and movement toward independence, shaping their diverse identities. Today, they maintain close diplomatic and economic relationships with the UK while also developing their own regional cooperation efforts.
