Brigadas Internacionales

The Brigadas Internacionales, or International Brigades, were volunteer groups of fighters from different countries who came together to support the Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Composed of idealists, communists, socialists, and others, they fought against the fascist forces led by General Francisco Franco. These brigades symbolized international solidarity against fascism and were formed to defend democracy and oppose authoritarianism. Though composed of civilians and volunteers, they played a notable role in the conflict and are remembered as a testament to global opposition to fascist expansion during that period.
