Bridge's Transition Model

Bridge’s Transition Model describes how people adapt to change by going through three phases: endings, the neutral zone, and new beginnings. First, individuals let go of old ways (endings), which can feel uncomfortable or sad. Next, they experience a period of uncertainty and reflection called the neutral zone, where old habits fade but new routines haven't fully formed. Finally, they embrace a new identity and mindset (new beginnings), leading to renewed motivation and improvement. This model helps organizations support people through change by recognizing these emotional and psychological stages.
