Breast biopsies
A breast biopsy is a medical procedure where a small sample of breast tissue is removed for analysis. It helps doctors determine if the abnormal area, such as a lump or suspicious imaging result, is benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). The sample can be taken with a needle or through minor surgery, often with local anesthesia to numb the area. After the tissue is examined under a microscope, the results guide diagnosis and treatment plans. Breast biopsies are a common and important tool for early detection and management of breast health issues.
