Brazilian Vargas Era
The Vargas Era refers to the period when Getúlio Vargas was a key leader in Brazil, primarily from 1930 to 1945. He came to power after a revolution and aimed to modernize the country’s economy and improve workers' rights. Vargas implemented social reforms, industrialization policies, and established a more centralized government. His administration is also noted for authoritarianism, especially during the Estado Novo (1937-1945), where political repression increased. Vargas's influence reshaped Brazilian society, economy, and politics, leaving a lasting legacy even after his resignation in 1945. He returned to power later until his suicide in 1954.
