Braneworld cosmology

Braneworld cosmology is a theory suggesting our universe is a four-dimensional "brane" embedded within a higher-dimensional space called the "bulk." While we experience familiar three dimensions of space and one of time, gravity and possibly other forces can extend into the extra dimensions, which might explain why gravity is weaker compared to other forces. This framework modifies traditional cosmological models, offering insights into phenomena like dark matter and the universe's expansion, by considering how interactions between the brane and the extra dimensions influence the cosmos's behavior and structure.
