Brainspotting Techniques
Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that uses the connection between eye position and emotional processing. Developed by David Grand, it helps individuals access and process unresolved trauma or distressing experiences. During a session, a therapist guides the client to find “brainspots”—specific eye positions that correspond to emotional pain. By focusing on these spots while exploring feelings, clients can release negative emotions and promote healing. Brainspotting is often used in conjunction with traditional therapy techniques, offering a way to process difficult memories more effectively. It’s aimed at fostering emotional regulation and psychological wellness.
