Bowman’s capsule
Bowman's capsule is a cup-shaped structure in the kidney that surrounds a cluster of tiny blood vessels called the glomerulus. Its main function is to collect the small molecules and fluids that are filtered out of the bloodstream by the glomerulus during the process of urine formation. This capsule acts as the first step in filtering blood, allowing waste and excess substances to be separated from the blood while retaining larger molecules like proteins and blood cells. The filtered fluid then moves into other parts of the kidney, where further processing occurs to form urine.
