Boundary Element Method (BEM)
The Boundary Element Method (BEM) is a mathematical technique used to solve complex engineering and physics problems, particularly those involving forces, heat transfer, or fluid flow. Instead of analyzing the entire volume of an object, BEM focuses on its boundary, significantly reducing computational effort. By applying mathematical equations at the edges, or boundaries, of the model, it indirectly calculates the behavior inside the object. This method is especially useful for problems in infinite or semi-infinite domains, such as in geophysics and structural analysis, where it provides accurate solutions with fewer resources than traditional methods.
