Botnet
A botnet is a network of computers infected with malicious software that allows a hacker to control them remotely. These compromised machines, called "bots," can be used together to perform coordinated tasks without their owners' knowledge. Common uses include launching cyberattacks like sending spam, stealing data, or overwhelming websites with traffic, a tactic known as a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. Think of a botnet as a virtual army of compromised devices working under a hacker's command, often functioning silently and invisibly in the background.
