Boston Lead Paint Study
The Boston Lead Paint Study was a significant research project examining the impact of lead paint exposure on children's health. Conducted in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the study found that children living in homes with lead paint were at a higher risk for developmental delays and learning disabilities. Lead exposure can result from deteriorating paint and dust in older buildings. The study highlighted the need for stricter regulations and public health initiatives to address lead poisoning, which remains a preventable cause of serious health problems in children, particularly in urban areas with older housing.
