Bonn Challenge
The Bonn Challenge is a global initiative launched in 2011 aimed at restoring deforested and degraded landscapes. It encourages countries to commit to restoring 150 million hectares of these areas by 2020 and 350 million hectares by 2030. The goal is to enhance environmental health, combat climate change, and improve livelihoods by increasing forest cover, which helps capture carbon dioxide and supports biodiversity. By bringing together governments, organizations, and private sectors, the Bonn Challenge fosters international cooperation and investment in forest restoration projects worldwide.
