Bologna Declaration
The Bologna Declaration, signed in 1999 by European countries, aims to create a more unified and comparable higher education system across Europe. Its goal is to promote student mobility, facilitate recognition of degrees and qualifications, and enhance the quality and competitiveness of European universities. This initiative led to the adoption of a common framework with three main cycles: Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate, making it easier for students to study and work across different countries within Europe. Essentially, the Bologna Declaration strives to make European higher education more coherent, flexible, and accessible.
