Blue supergiants
Blue supergiants are extremely large and luminous stars, much bigger and brighter than our Sun, with a characteristic blue color indicating very high surface temperatures, typically above 10,000°C. They are massive, often over 10 times the Sun's mass, and burn through their fuel quickly, leading to short but intense lifetimes. These stars are often found in star-forming regions and are in a late stage of stellar evolution. Their high energy output and eventual supernova explosion have significant impacts on their surrounding space, enriching it with heavy elements critical for planet formation and life.
