Black Forest

The Black Forest is a large, wooded mountain range located in southwestern Germany, known for its dense forests, picturesque villages, and rich folklore. It stretches approximately 160 kilometers (100 miles) and is part of the Baden-Württemberg region. The area is famous for its outdoor activities like hiking and skiing, as well as for traditional crafts, such as cuckoo clock making. The name comes from the dark, thick trees that create a shaded environment. The Black Forest also has a reputation for its culinary delights, such as the famous Black Forest cake, which features chocolate, cherries, and cream.
