Bishop Richard Challoner (1691–1781) was an influential English Catholic leader known for his efforts to strengthen and reform the Catholic Church in England during a challenging time of religious suppression. He worked to support Catholic education, promote faith, and preserve Catholic traditions despite legal restrictions. Challoner is best remembered for editing the widely used "Douay-Rheims Bible," making Scripture more accessible to English speakers.
