Biosafety levels
Biosafety levels (BSLs) are categories that describe the precautions required to safely work with biological agents, such as bacteria or viruses. There are four levels: - BSL-1 is for organisms that pose minimal risk, requiring basic safety practices. - BSL-2 involves moderate risk and requires additional safety measures. - BSL-3 is for agents that can cause serious illness, requiring strict controls and specialized equipment. - BSL-4 is for highly dangerous agents, requiring the highest level of containment and protection. These levels help ensure the safety of laboratory workers and the public.
