Biofuels

Biofuels are renewable energy sources derived from organic materials such as plants, algae, and agricultural waste. They are used as alternatives to traditional fossil fuels like gasoline and diesel for transportation, heating, and electricity generation. Biofuels can reduce greenhouse gas emissions since the plants used for production absorb carbon dioxide as they grow. Common types include ethanol, made from corn or sugarcane, and biodiesel, produced from vegetable oils or animal fats. While they present a more sustainable option, their production must be managed carefully to avoid food shortages and environmental impacts.
