Biofilm Research Group
A Biofilm Research Group studies communities of microorganisms that stick together and form protective, slimy layers called biofilms on surfaces. These biofilms are found everywhere—from medical devices and pipes to natural environments—and can impact health, industry, and ecosystems. The group investigates how biofilms develop, how they resist cleaning and antibiotics, and ways to control or eliminate them. Their work helps improve health outcomes, prevent infections, and optimize industrial processes by understanding these complex microbial communities.
