Binocular Rivalry

Binocular rivalry occurs when each eye is presented with a different visual image, and instead of blending them into a single perception, the brain alternates between perceiving one image and then the other. This phenomenon highlights how the brain processes conflicting information and prioritizes one image over the other at any given moment. It can last seconds to minutes, and during this time, the viewer perceives a flickering or swapping of images, revealing insights into visual awareness and consciousness.
