Bhopal

Bhopal is the capital city of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is known for its historical significance, lakes, and culture, often referred to as the "City of Lakes." Bhopal is also infamous for the Bhopal gas tragedy of 1984, one of the world's worst industrial disasters, when a gas leak from the Union Carbide pesticide plant exposed thousands of people to toxic chemicals, resulting in thousands of deaths and long-term health effects. Today, Bhopal is a blend of modern development and historical heritage, featuring monuments like the Taj-ul-Masjid and various cultural festivals.
