Bheel (also Bhil)
The Bheel, or Bhil, is an indigenous tribal community predominantly found in the central and western regions of India, particularly in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. They are one of the largest tribal groups in India and have a rich cultural heritage, including distinct languages, traditions, and art forms. Historically, the Bhils were known as skilled hunters and gatherers. Today, many are involved in agriculture and other livelihoods, while efforts are being made to preserve their cultural identity amidst modernization and socio-economic challenges. Their traditions often celebrate nature, folklore, and community life.
