Bharat Stage IV

Bharat Stage IV (BS-IV) is a set of strict pollution control standards implemented in India for vehicles. It limits the amount of harmful emissions, such as nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, that vehicles can release into the air. These standards aim to reduce air pollution and protect public health, aligning India’s vehicle emissions regulations with those of developed countries. BS-IV mainly affects gasoline and diesel vehicle design, encouraging cleaner energy and technology. It was enforced across India from April 2017, leading automakers to upgrade technology to meet these environmental standards.
