Bhai Vir Singh (1872-1957) was a prominent Indian writer, poet, and playwright from Punjab, known for his significant contributions to Punjabi literature and culture. He played a key role in the Punjabi Renaissance, advocating for the Punjabi language and Sikh identity. His works often focus on themes of spirituality, heroism, and social reform. Bhai Vir Singh is celebrated for his historical novels, poetry, and religious texts, which blend storytelling with moral and philosophical insights. He also helped revive the Gurmat Sangeet tradition and was a founding figure in the Khalsa College in Amritsar, promoting education among Sikhs.
