Bernard Gui

Bernard Gui (1261–1331) was a French inquisitor and a notable figure in the medieval Church. He is best known for his role in the Inquisition, where he worked to identify and prosecute heresy, particularly in Southern France. Gui also authored a seminal manual on inquisitorial procedures, "Manual of the Inquisitors," which outlined methods for investigating and judging alleged heretics. His work reflects the Church's efforts to maintain doctrine during a time of significant religious turmoil.
