Belief-Desire-Intent (BDI) model

The Belief-Desire-Intent (BDI) model is a framework used to understand and simulate how agents, such as humans or artificial intelligence, make decisions. In this model, "Beliefs" represent what the agent knows about the world, "Desires" reflect the agent's goals or things they want to achieve, and "Intentions" are the plans or actions the agent chooses to pursue based on its beliefs and desires. Essentially, it captures the reasoning process: agents form beliefs, identify desires based on those beliefs, and then commit to intentions that guide their actions toward fulfilling their goals.
