Belgian Forts

Belgian forts are a series of military defenses built mainly between 1939 and 1940 to protect Belgium from invasion, particularly from Germany. These concrete and steel structures, part of the National Redoubt, include bunkers, artillery positions, and underground tunnels, designed to withstand attack and provide strategic defense points. They are located near key border areas and played a significant role during World War II, especially during the Battle of Belgium. Today, many are historical sites, showcasing military engineering and history from that period.
