Batting Average

Batting average is a statistic used in baseball to measure a hitter's performance. It’s calculated by dividing the number of hits a player gets by their total at-bats. For example, if a player has 30 hits in 100 at-bats, their batting average is .300. A higher batting average indicates a player is more successful at hitting the ball and getting on base through hits. It’s a key measure of consistency and skill at the plate, with averages typically ranging from around .200 (below average) to .300 or higher (excellent).
