Batter's Box
The batter’s box is the designated area on each side of home plate where a batter stands during an at-bat in baseball. It is a rectangle, typically about 4 feet wide and extends a few feet in front of and behind home plate. The box ensures the batter maintains proper position and stays within the rules. Its boundaries are marked to prevent stepping outside, which can lead to called strikes or penalties. The batter must stay inside the box while hitting, but can step outside briefly to avoid a pitch or adjust their stance.
