Barschel affair

The Barschel affair was a political scandal in West Germany during the early 1980s involving the mysterious death of German politician Uwe Barschel. Allegedly, Barschel was embroiled in intense political rivalry, and there were accusations of illegal activities, including wiretapping and covert influence. In 1987, Barschel was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel room, widely believed to be a suicide or murder linked to political intrigue.
