Baroreceptor reflex

The baroreceptor reflex is a vital bodily process that helps regulate blood pressure. When blood pressure rises, specialized sensors in blood vessels called baroreceptors detect this change and send signals to the brain. In response, the brain instructs the heart to slow down and blood vessels to widen, lowering blood pressure. Conversely, if blood pressure drops, the reflex triggers the heart to beat faster and blood vessels to constrict to increase pressure. This automatic feedback system helps maintain stable blood pressure, ensuring that our organs receive an adequate blood supply.
