Balloon Catheter
A balloon catheter is a flexible tube with an inflatable balloon at its tip, used in medical procedures. It is inserted into blood vessels or body passages to perform tasks such as opening blocked arteries (angioplasty), controlling bleeding, or delivering medication. Once in the correct location, the balloon is inflated to expand or block the area, then deflated and removed. This tool allows minimally invasive treatment, reducing the need for open surgery and improving recovery times.
