Baird Television System

The Baird Television System, developed by John Logie Baird in the 1920s, was an early method of transmitting moving images. It used a mechanical setup where a spinning disk with tiny holes (a Nipkow disk) scanned a scene, converting it into electrical signals. These signals were then transmitted over a wire or radio to a receiver, which used a similar disk to reproduce the images. Although eventually replaced by electronic television, Baird's system was pioneering in demonstrating that moving images could be broadcast and received, laying the foundation for modern television technology.
