Bahadur Shah II (Bahadur Shah Zafar)

Bahadur Shah II, also known as Bahadur Shah Zafar, was the last Mughal emperor of India, reigning from 1837 to 1857. His rule was largely symbolic, as real power had diminished, and he was mainly a cultural figure, known for his poetry. During the Indian Rebellion of 1857, he became a symbol of resistance but was ultimately captured by the British. Following his defeat, he was tried, exiled to Burma (Myanmar), and died in 1862. His death marked the end of the Mughal dynasty's rule in India, symbolizing the decline of Mughal power and the shift towards British dominance.
