Babinski's Disease

Babinski's disease, more accurately known as a Babinski sign, is a neurological indicator that suggests an issue with the brain or spinal cord pathways responsible for motor control. When the sole of the foot is stroked, a typical response is the curling of the toes. However, in individuals with neurological problems—often from nerve damage or brain injury—the big toe extends upward and the other toes fan out. This reflex indicates that the normal nerve pathways are disrupted, helping doctors identify underlying neurological conditions affecting the central nervous system.
