Auxins

Auxins are a group of plant hormones that play a key role in regulating growth and development. They promote cell elongation, helping plants grow taller and roots to extend. Auxins also influence other processes such as the formation of roots from cuttings, fruit development, and the bending of plants toward light (phototropism). These hormones are produced mainly in the tips of shoots and roots, then transported to other parts of the plant. By controlling where and how plants grow, auxins are essential for shaping plant structure and adaptive responses to their environment.
